Endoscopy is an investigation to determine the presence or extent of a disease that involves looking into the body through natural body openings using a flexible and tubular camera endoscope. A biopsy is a medical procedure, during which a small sample of tissue is removed from a part of the body. The tissue sample is then examined under a microscope to look for abnormal cells.
The Unmet Clinical Need
Conventional marketed biopsy instruments, such as needles and forceps with alligator claws, do not provide accurate diagnosis of deep and elusive tumors. The requirements has increased for detection of the extent of spread of the tumor for optimized prognosis and treatment time. Furthermore targeted therapies create new and greater demands on larger tissue samples.
This is the sole reason why B!BBInstruments was founded in 2013.
